You need three things to secure your online accounts:
0) Password manager to generate strong and unique passwords
1) Second-factor authentication - the best option is NitroKey Fido or YubiKey, followed by USB or app-based 2FA one-time-passwords.
2) Good OPSEC - or operations security - without it, no tool can save you.

Everyone should watch this video. Twice. And then implement it, if they haven't already. Good stuff, looking forward to the next in the series!

One of the stupidest things which I have seen people do is not logging out of their Gmail accounts on public computers or not using incognito mode. I've been to the printing shop of my university and it's not very uncommon to see forgetting to click sign out after downloading the attachment and clicking print. SMH... No amount of strong passwords or measures can save these people.

I never actually answer security questions. I just use them as secundary/recovery passwords

The Hated one, what do you do to defend against what I call "termite phishing?" That is a tactic that's grown a lot this year; a hacker gets into a company or a mailing list's phone, takes the standard email forms for lists, and then uses the contacts to send the lists with an added message. For instance you are part of widget Co and have a meeting email list; the phisher will send an email that is identical to a normal meeting but add "here are the details of the meeting" with a malicious link. I've seen about 3 of these termite phishing emails this year and they are extremely hard to spot as phishing emails.

Yes! Even though I probably already know most of what's here, courtesy of many other of THO's videos and privacy io, I've been waiting for this video.
Your annual privacy and security vids are indispensable! THANK YOU!

Solution for the 2FA issue when it comes to FIDO; Enroll 2 keys, store them separately.

10:38 I'm using Aegis. Foss app
Il let you set a password for vault and use finger print to unlock it. Huge plus is it let you migrate data with no problems.
